Lukewarm
Luke and Jessi grew up in a Christian environment, but their lives are far from the practice of the Christian faith. The film tells the story of the mistakes we make in life, how to make amends for them, and how to overcome hatred with love.
Events from Luke’s childhood have significantly shaped his adulthood, his relationship with his father, and his relationship with God.
Luke pretends to be a Christian, but he is tolerant of much that is wrong in his life. He lives with his girlfriend Jessi in an apartment, even though they are not married. Although they have pangs of conscience—and she has long been urging Luke to marry her—Luke always has some reason why not yet.
Luke works at a bar where, thanks in part to him, people go to get drunk. There, his friends pressure him into going on drinking binges with loose women. This causes a crisis in his relationship with Jessi.
When Luke sees where his desire for money and his wild lifestyle have led him, he decides to quit his job as a bartender. Under the influence of a devout Christian friend named Thomas, he discovers a path to God. His growing closeness to God also fundamentally changes his other relationships.
