The film Man of God is a biographical exploration of the life of a magnificent saint—Saint Nektarios of Aegina. A man who, even within his own church, was unjustly exiled, wrongfully condemned, and constantly slandered.

The film is based on the true life of Saint Nektarios of Aegina, a Greek Orthodox clergyman. The story follows his later years as he faces injustice and jealousy from members of the high clergy in Alexandria.

They accuse him of ambition and demand his removal from the office of bishop. Nektarios is unjustly dismissed and returns to Greece, where he becomes the principal of a school, earning the respect of his students through his humility and devotion.

Despite his efforts to serve the Church and the people, he faces further slander and hostility within ecclesiastical circles, and his situation leads to greater isolation. He retreats to the island of Aegina, where he helps build a monastery and devotes himself to prayer and writing. However, his enemies do not leave him in peace even there.

The film highlights his faith, patience, perseverance, and mercy in the face of injustice and suffering. The plot is interwoven with many profound ideas.
