An adaptation of Katherine Paterson’s worldwide bestseller of the same name. The main characters, Jess and Leslie, create their own imaginary fantasy kingdom. The unexpected and very strong conclusion is an added value of this enjoyable family film.

Jessi is an outsider and becomes the target of bullying from other students at school. Leslie is a girl who has just moved with her parents to the town where Jessi lives. In addition to becoming a new student in his class, their new house is adjacent to the very house where Jessi lives.

One day after coming home from school, the two decide to go on some adventures in the nearby woods. Thanks to a rope used to bridge a stream, they reach the other side, where they begin to build their fantasy world of Terabithia.

This way of spending their free time and their friendship with each other helps them to transcend the difficulties either from their families or from school.

One Saturday, Jesse is called on a field trip to the museum by his music teacher. Jessi considers whether to call Leslie on this trip as well, but ultimately decides to go without her. When he returns home from the trip, he learns that Leslie has drowned in a fall from a rope in a raging creek.

Despite this sad event, many things change for the better. For Jessi has learned and realized many important things through his friendship with Leslie.
