Clancy walks away from a mother who, devastated by alcohol, abuses her daughter physically and mentally.

Nick is a weirdo with a troubled past, a former member of an elite military unit. In an attempt to protect his life, he commits a terrible crime.

By the time he meets little Clancy, Nick is an alcoholic wreck. A man who can’t forgive himself and a child who can’t be left alone.

The whole situation is set in the cynically rendered corruption of a police chief and a mayor preparing for an election. All he wants to achieve is to regain his seat. In this effort, he wants to use the unsuspecting Nick as a scapegoat for his campaign.
