Miss Potter
The film chronicles Potter’s writing period, which lasted only a decade in the early 20th century. The life story of a successful children’s book writer whose work was also adapted for the stage and film.
Beatrix Potter is an unmarried young woman who embarks on a writing career. Her texts, intended for children’s readers, are complemented by typical drawings of rabbits.
Gradually, her career as a successful writer takes off. She finds support for her work in Norman, a young entrepreneur. Eventually they become so close that they decide to get married. Beatrix does not marry Norman in the end because Norman succumbs to a serious illness.
After Norman’s death, her world crumbles. Beatrix, however, proves to be a strong determined woman who will not succumb even to the hard fate that befalls her in her personal life. She leaves for the countryside, where she buys a farm and begins a new life.
Parents Guide: 1x kissing the fiancés at the train station. A couple of times “for God’s sake” or “My God”. A couple of times drinking wine. Norman’s sister comforting Beatrix by saying she has only herself to think of.
