Standing Firm
A nice story about the relationship between a father and a newly grown son. Their relationship hasn’t been ideal, but when Steve’s dad finds his way to God, things begin to change.
After the death of his wife in a car accident, Dave struggles and finds it much harder to run the household and pay the bills on his own. Fortunately, he has a hard-working son, Steven, who loves and cares for his father.
Even before his wife’s death, Dave did not have a strong faith in God, and after her death he has grown even more distrustful of Him. His son, however, cares about his father finding his way to God.
Yet, when Dave’s wife was alive, they had problems in their marriage because of Dave’s stubborn nature and his willfulness. After much prayer and sacrifice by Dave’s son, and thanks to Dave’s wife earlier, Dave begins a conversation with God after several setbacks in his life. Dave and Steve become very good friends.
Dave is also changing the way he approaches customers at his job. However, with his passion for the gospel, he is not only met with acceptance. His problems at work persist, but his changed approach is bearing its first positive fruit.
Dave’s and Steve’s fates are intertwined in the film with those of several other characters.
