A mountaineering-themed film about what really matters in life. Also a film about how loss can sometimes lead to finding something great.
A drama about two climbers, one of whom, Derrick Williams, is a strong individualist, determined to prove to himself and the world that he doesn’t need anyone and can make it on his own. His life is shaped by his atheistic beliefs and he is a man who bows only to his own ego.
In contrast, Michael is a man building his life on his relationship with God. He takes no more risks than he has to, and he knows full well that there are more important things in life than climbing mountains. Mountains, however, will test the character and strength of both of these men.
As they climb an Andean mountain together, they get to know each other better, and through their conversations, Derrick begins to reflect more on the meaning and purpose of his life.
During the climb, a serious accident occurs in which Michael dies. The accident is closely related to Derrick’s irresponsible actions.
The whole trip significantly affects Derrick’s life and he begins a new life after returning back home.
Parents Guide: Derrick is not married to his girlfriend, but they are expecting a child together. Michael is buried by a snow slide.
