The Miracle of Marcelino
A cute story about little Marcelino and his fervent relationship with God. Inspired by the Christian novel about the boy Marcelin, who grew up among Franciscan monks in a Spanish monastery after the French Conquest sometime in the first half of the 19th century.
The monks of the monastery, near a certain poor village, take in the abandoned boy Marcelin. When they are unable to trace his parents, nor are they able to place the boy with a nearby family, they decide to look after Marcelino themselves.
Marcelino grows up with the monks in the monastery, learns various useful things from them and they raise him very kindly. In spite of everything, he misses his mother very much. When Marcelino decides to be adopted by the local prominent but proud and self-centered elder, the monks won’t let him. Because of their refusal, they antagonise the mayor.
At the monastery, Marcelino continues his easy-going life, which he diversifies with regular naughtiness. Apart from that, he experiences many happy incidents, but also miraculous moments.
Parents Guide: 1x “cursed boy”. 1x to address the monks as “those devils”.
