A compelling story about four different people – a singer, a newspaper publisher, a wealthy philanthropist and a man who has lost his faith.

A mayoral election is about to take place in Raymond, California. Politician Alex York promises the people prosperity by building a casino on the site of a dilapidated church.

During the campaign, a drifter comes to town, trying in vain to find work. During the last sermon before the demolition, he enters the church and interrupts it by telling how coldly the townspeople treated him when he was looking for a job.

What would Jesus say to this? And what would Jesus have done?
