A refreshing film with comedic elements, it captivates with its plots and especially the exemplary personality of Priest O’Malley. It is a film that can bring the life of a parish priest closer to life and help to remove some of the prejudices by showing that priests are also normal people who experience their worries as well as their joys.
An enjoyable and heartwarming story about Fr O’Malley, a priest who comes to help out at St Dominic’s parish. He brings a new attitude and more life to the life of the parish.
Priest O’Malley’s arrival results in some disagreements with an older colleague who was used to a certain monotony, which O’Malley now disrupts. After a minor crisis of sorts, they work together to overcome their misunderstandings.
Later, O’Malley himself becomes the parish administrator. He establishes a boys’ choir, takes an interest in the problems of the people in the parish and tries to lend a helping hand. He also has to deal with the parish’s poor financial situation.
All this is rounded off with a warm and cheerful performance by Fr O’Malley.
