A film that touches the viewer’s heart. First a skilled knight, finally a monk seeking peace of mind in the service of God. An educated man, an enthusiastic preacher and a warrior not only with the pitfalls of the times, but especially a warrior with his tendencies towards pride, ambition and low desires – St. Anthony of Padua.
A personal tragedy leads Fernando, who later adopts the monastic name of Anton, to reconsider his life so far.
After much reflection, he decides to repent and dedicate his life to God in the Order of the Friars Minor of St Francis of Assisi. The initial decision was not at all easy for him, because the noble and beautiful Teresa, with whom he was in love, was not going to accept that Fernando would be a religious.
Soon after his ordination, Anton went on a long pilgrimage with one of the religious brothers. There, through a struggle with his pride, he matures into a spiritually strong personality. He also meets Brother Francis of Assisi.
In addition to the many good things Anton did on his travels, from helping the poor to saving the weak from oppression, his life was also filled with various miracles. Because of this, he was sought after by crowds of people.
