October Baby
A timely and powerful story about the relationship between parents, their stepdaughter, and forgiveness. A film about the events surrounding the birth of young Hannah, who was neither planned nor wanted.
Through a series of circumstances, Hannah, a 19-year-old girl, learns that her parents are not her biological parents. She has a hard time accepting this information, since it comes so late and she perceives it as a betrayal and a lie.
Another blow to her is the fact that she was an unwanted child and that she survived an abortion in which she was supposed to have been killed.
Soon after, she accepts an invitation to go on a long road trip with her childhood friend and his group of friends. Their journey takes an unexpected turn. Led by the eccentric B-Mac, the trip turns into a bizarre escapade.
Hannah eventually splits off from the others and sets out with her friend Jason to search for her mother. She eventually finds her mother, but her mother shows no interest in her. The situation only changes after she finds a note her mother left on the table.
While searching for her mother, she learns details about the horrific events surrounding her birth. She also learns that a little brother was born with her, but he died shortly afterward from complications resulting from a botched abortion.
