The film Extraordinary Measures is inspired by real events. A quirky and eccentric doctor passionate about scientific research into a new drug, and determined parents who want to save their two children suffering from a rare genetic disorder. Sometimes a rather explosive combination, other times a team that overcomes even the impossible.

We find ourselves in the story of a family whose two children suffer from a serious illness. They are confined to wheelchairs because their condition is associated with muscular dystrophy, which causes all the muscles in their bodies to gradually stop responding.

Their time is running out, and they have only a few months left to live. The father decides to take action and seeks out a doctor whom he learns is conducting research into a cure for the very disease his children suffer from.

The problem is that this research is primarily theoretical. To achieve tangible results and develop a cure, tens of millions of dollars will be needed.

But money isn’t the only problem. They’ll face the self-interest and greed of the people behind biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

A film about a father who did everything to save his children. A film about how, when you’re so close to your goal, things can very easily take a 180-degree turn.
