A gripping story about a Mormon community and its caricature of Christianity mixed with Freemasonry. Forced marriages and the abuse of minors are nothing out of the ordinary here. A place where the devil hides behind God.

Jossajah is a priest in the local Mormon community and a favorite of their community leader. He wields great power within the community. The men talk a lot about being merciful toward one another, but their treatment of women is appalling.

As a polygamist, Jossajah has several wives. One day, he expels his wife, Judith, from the community. The reason is an attempted rape of their daughter and her reporting of the incident to social services. Judit decides to flee the community after learning that, based on a prophet’s revelation, they intend to marry off her twelve-year-old daughter to an older man.

After her escape, she receives help from social services. Several people from the town where she has moved also assist Judit.

Together with her children, she adjusts to her new life. After some time, however, thanks to one daughter’s naivety, their father, Jossajah, learns their exact whereabouts. He comes to find them, bringing with him the daughter who believes she will be able to marry the man she truly loves.

Reality ultimately turns out to be different, and the girl discovers that they want to marry her off to her stepfather. Her mother, Judith, decides not to let this happen.
