Christmas Carol
A film about the search for happiness and the meaning of life. A story that highlights the futility of living without love and the folly of an obsession with money. Based on the book by Charles Dickens.
Jacob Marley and Ebenezer Scrooge were partners in a business. After Jacob’s death, Ebenezer Scrooge is determined to continue amassing more wealth.
Scrooge is a selfish, greedy, and bitter man who is indifferent to the lives of others. He doesn’t even celebrate Christmas because his mind is consumed with worries about increasing his wealth.
Seven years after Jacob’s death, Jacob’s ghost appears to Ebenezer to warn him against wasting the rest of his life. Over the next few days, three spirits guide him through his past, the present—which is hidden from him—and the time after death, revealing to him what his death would mean to many people.
He is confronted with how his character has deteriorated over the years. At the same time, he is reminded of all the good things that have happened to him in life.
