A powerful story about the healing power of the Christian faith and its importance in getting back on the right path in life, even during difficult times and setbacks.

Ingrid’s mother loses her son Michael in a car accident. The person responsible for his death is Alec McCortland, a young teenager from a dysfunctional family. He causes the accident while under the influence of drugs and is subsequently placed in a reformatory.

The bereaved must grapple for a long time with the unforgiveness—even hatred—they feel. Ingrid begins visiting Alec at the facility where he is held, and her initial resistance gives way to compassion and eventually love for the desperate Alec.

Due to severe psychological trauma, Alec is unable to lead a stable life. A long journey of healing awaits him, accompanied not only by Ingrid but also by Father Peter, a priest.
