Jesus
Probably the most famous Jesus film that doesn’t slip, or only minimally, into the director’s fantasies. The film was shot on location in Israel in the areas described in the Bible. A film about the greatest man who ever lived. A film about a man who was also God incarnate.
The plot is a reproduction of the Gospel of Luke and ranks among the most faithful treatments of the life of Jesus. This film is the most widely distributed and translated cinematic account of the life of Jesus.
The treatment of Christ’s Passion is not portrayed in an overly naturalistic manner, making this film suitable for younger viewers.
The story unfolds from Jesus’ birth through the life of John the Baptist, continuing with Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness and His first public appearances. Here we can mention the calling of the apostles and the various miracles of Jesus.
The plot of the film gradually moves towards the culmination of Jesus’ life, which was his death on the cross, resurrection and ascension.
