“Moonrise” is a heartfelt family drama with romantic elements. Country singer Granger Smith stars as Will Brown, a man who, following the tragic death of his wife, withdraws from his children, his music, and his own life.

Will Brown is a formerly successful country singer who completely withdraws into himself after the tragic death of his wife. He feels guilty for her death and stops singing, neglects his three children, and lives with them on a ranch. His daughter Ellie, in particular, suffers greatly because her father won’t let her go near the white Arabian horse that belonged to her mother and was connected to her fatal accident.

Ellie, however, believes that the horse can help her feel close to her mother again. She hires a horse trainer named Sam, who comes to the ranch and begins training the horse. Sam gradually helps not only Ellie and the horse, but indirectly Will as well. At first, Will is resistant, but over time, an emotional bond forms between him and Sam.

The situation becomes complicated when Sam’s ex-boyfriend shows up. It turns out he even wants to buy part of Will’s ranch from him. Will sees this as a betrayal and distances himself from Sam. He withdraws into himself again, afraid of further loss and disappointment.
