The film Return to the Hiding Place is a historical drama set during World War II in the Netherlands that focuses on the heroism of young resistance fighters against the Nazi occupation.

The main protagonist is Hans Poley, who joins the Dutch resistance. During the Nazi persecution of Jews, Hans and his friends try to save innocent people from death.

The film depicts how Hans finds refuge with Corrie ten Boom, a well-known Dutch Christian who hid Jewish refugees in her home. Together with other young people, they form a group that Corrie calls her “student army.”

Hans is given a false identity and joins the resistance, where many risk their lives to save others. They try to destroy the lists of those condemned and hide them from the Nazis. Within the group’s area of operation is an orphanage housing Jewish children, which the Germans also have their sights set on.

Among other things, the story depicts the brutality of war and the crimes committed by the National Socialists.
