Beautiful Alpine scenery, picturesque French songs, the courage of a little boy, and the selflessness of the people in a small French village, all set against the backdrop of World War II.

The film tells the story of little Sebastian, who lives with an old shepherd who has been caring for him since he was a child. A lone dog named Bella roams the surrounding mountains; the villagers consider her dangerous. Despite everything, Sebastian befriends Bella. 

Thanks to Bella, Sebastian is able to overcome the various obstacles and dangers that lie in wait for him during the war. 

The film primarily highlights the kindness of the local residents as they help Jewish refugees cross the mountains. The refugees are seeking refuge in neighboring Switzerland. 

In addition, the film also showcases Sebastian’s positive relationship with animals, which he and his grandfather try to help whenever necessary.
