A gripping story based on real events. The film is not only about a space adventure and the struggle for survival, but also about the selflessness and dedication of honorable men.

The flight to the Salyut 7 space station, which took place in 1985, is considered one of the most difficult flights in the history of space exploration. The Salyut 7 space station, orbiting Earth in unmanned mode, suddenly stops responding to signals from the space flight control center in Baikonur.

A decision is made to send a rescue expedition into orbit. The space crew’s mission is to locate the defunct station and become the first in the world to establish contact with the 20-metric-ton uncontrollable mass of steel. The cosmonauts realize that their chances of returning to Earth are not very promising.

Their mission is not only to contact the Salyut 7 station but also to bring it back to life. As soon as they solve one problem, another arises. Nevertheless, the two men strive to prevent the station from crashing into Earth to avert a catastrophe of unimaginable proportions, while their own families await them back on Earth.
