Lassie
A family story about the “immortal” Lassie, who in this installment is a steadfast traveler. A film about honesty, kindness, compassion, and friendship.
Lassie lives with little Joe’s family until his father loses his job at the local mine and is forced to sell Lassie to a wealthy aristocrat. But Lassie keeps running away from him.
Eventually, the wealthy man moves from England to the north of Scotland, but Lassie runs away from there as well, meeting various interesting people along the way and experiencing all sorts of adventures.
Meanwhile, Joe’s father is forced to go off to war, from which he fortunately returns safe and sound. Joe’s father is an honest and just man, and he never wants to keep Lassie for himself since she is no longer theirs; therefore, he always faithfully returns her to her new owner.
In the end, the wealthy Duke of Rudling devises a way to settle matters to everyone’s satisfaction.
