The Ride is a short film by Dallas Jenkins, director of the series *The Chosen*, which tells the story of a taxi driver and his passenger on Christmas Eve. This beautifully crafted film depicts the transformation in both men’s lives and conveys a message of God’s love and forgiveness.
The film initially follows the work of a bored taxi driver who picks up his last passenger on Christmas Eve. It turns out that this passenger is a desperate man who wants to get to a bridge from which he plans to jump into the river.
The taxi driver soon notices signs of mental distress in his last passenger, and instead of kicking him out, he prolongs the ride and tries to figure out how to help him.
Their journey becomes a modern version of the parable of the prodigal son, filled with emotion, humor, and the truth about life. Despite its short running time, the film manages to deeply touch the viewer’s heart. The film has won several awards.
