A beautiful story about kindness and compassion toward others, especially those who are suffering. An important message of the film is that people should never stop dreaming and should strive to make their dreams come true. Another important theme of the film is that every woman and every girl is a princess and deserves to be treated like one.

Sara lives with her father in exotic India. Her mother has passed away, and her father has been called to serve in the war. Before leaving for the front, he takes Sara to a boarding school in New York.

Sara is very talented and well-educated. Her personality is an asset to the other girls at the boarding school, not only because of her knowledge but also because of her kindness toward others. After some time, news arrives that her father has been killed in action. The truth, however, is that he is only seriously wounded.

Upon hearing this news, the unpleasant matron of the girls’ boarding school decides to turn Sarah into a servant, since caring for Sarah is no longer profitable. After some time, the situation between Sarah and the matron escalates to the point where the matron wants to expel Sarah from the boarding school.

Sara and her Black friend run away, and during their escape, she runs into her father, who, by coincidence, is staying in the building across the street.
