Time Changer
The story is set in the late 19th century. Dr. Russel Carlisle is writing a book on moral values and awaiting approval from the academic council. Before it is approved, he is given the opportunity to travel to the future so that he can understand the shortcomings of his own reasoning.
Russell writes a book, one of the themes of which is the promotion and teaching of moral standards given through Jesus Christ to all people. In the book, Russell presents the view that it is sufficient to uphold Jesus’ moral principles for the good of society, without specifying their source.
A scholar named Norris disagrees with this and refuses to use his authority to support the publication of this book. He points out that such an attitude will lead to the relativization of moral principles in people’s perception.
Russell disagrees, and so Norris persuades him to take a journey into the future, through which he will have the opportunity to experience where separating moral principles from the foundation upon which they are meant to stand—which is none other than Jesus Christ—leads.
After a few minor twists and turns, Russell finally arrives in the late twentieth century. He experiences firsthand the moral decay that Western society has fallen into, after what God says and commands ceased to be important to most people.
