The excellent film A Matter of Faith is about a young girl named Rachel and her immature, uninformed Christian faith, which is crushed by an atheist professor who believes in the unproven fairy tale of macroevolution. The girl is the prototype of the average Christian who readily accepts evolution because she has no idea that the origin of life from non-living matter is merely a fantasy—and the question of whether the chicken or the egg came first is merely analogous to the question of whether DNA came first or the enzymes necessary for its formation—enzymes that cannot form without DNA.

Rachel arrives at college, where she makes new friends and gradually adjusts to student life. One of her core courses is biology. Professor Kaman, who teaches the course, is a proponent of evolution.

Gradually, his ideas begin to influence Rachel as well, who until then had been shaped by her parents’ belief that creationism is the true story of our past.

One day, an exchange of views takes place between the biology professor and Rachel’s father. They agree to hold a public debate on the topic of evolution versus creationism.

As the fateful day approaches, interesting facts about the professor’s and Rachel’s backgrounds are revealed.
