A true story about a boy and his parents who never gave up the fight against a serious illness, and whose heroism saved many other children facing a fate similar to that of their son.

Little Lorenzo is a healthy boy full of life. At a certain age, he begins to show symptoms of a serious, rare hereditary disease known as ALD. Doctors are unable to help Lorenzo.

Thanks to the tenacity and ingenuity of Lorenzo’s parents—and especially his father’s efforts—hope dawns for Lorenzo. His father persistently studies medical and veterinary literature. Through their efforts, he and his wife surpass many doctors and scientists. They succeed in discovering first the first and then the second crucial component of the medicine for Lorenz.

In addition to his parents, the film portrays other extraordinary figures who helped the Lorenz family. In contrast, the film also highlights the rigidity of many scientists and doctors.

The film shows that, especially in critical situations, people are better able to realize that what matters most to them is being with a loved one.
