A true story full of unexpected twists, problems, and hardships that, despite feelings of despair, lead to a happy ending and the discovery of God’s plan. A story that very well reflects the life’s difficulties and struggles that each of us likely experiences.

The film tells the story of events in the life of Episcopal Reverend Michael Spurlock, who decides to save his church from being sold for commercial purposes. The situation is complicated by the arrival of Burmese immigrants in his parish, whom he decides to help.

The Burmese immigrants become regular attendees at Michael’s services. Michael decides to change his plans and strategy for saving the church in order to help his new parishioners first and foremost.

Michael resolves to address the entire situation by taking up farming alongside his Burmese friends to help them secure a livelihood.

The situation begins to get complicated when a long period of drought sets in. This culminates in heavy rain accompanied by a flood, and to make matters worse, Michael’s efforts are marred by the spoilage of even the saved harvest.

The whole situation seems as if God were ignoring Michael’s prayers. It even seems as though Michael’s work has not been blessed at all. However, it depends on one’s perspective, because this entire situation will bring great good to Michael’s parish in a different way.

The film captures very well the reality that those who live in God’s presence need not fear any danger or hardship, for all things work together for good for those who are faithful to God.
