During her ministry, she faces many obstacles, including a lack of understanding from her family and the wider community.

Nevertheless, Maria becomes an inspiration to many other women and girls who join her in her efforts. Her work attracts attention and support, which, with the assistance of Don Bosco, leads to the expansion of her activities and the founding of additional schools around the world.
