Nonni and Manni is a 1988 television series directed by Ágúst Guðmundsson and based on a book by Jón Sveinsson. This six-episode family series focuses on the adventures of two boys, Nonni and Manni. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Iceland, the series places a strong emphasis on friendship, family, and moral values.

A stranger named Harald Helgasson arrives on the island with news of the death of their father and his friend. He stays in Iceland, and the boys grow very fond of him. The series also features a merchant named Magnus Hansson, who is interested in marrying Nonni and Manni’s mother. He soon begins to view Harald as a rival.

A murder takes place, and Magnus Hansson accuses Harald of the crime. However, Magnus is the real culprit. There are a few witnesses and pieces of evidence, but Magnus is an influential man and tries to resolve the situation through bribes and a manhunt for Harald. Harald goes into hiding in dangerous parts of Iceland.

The boys, Nonni and Manni, realize that Harald is not the murderer. But it’s not easy to bring the truth to light, and so a thrilling struggle against both people and nature begins.
