Nefarious
One of the best movies ever made. In the film Nefarious (2023), convicted serial killer Edward Wayne Brady claims that he is not mentally ill, but is possessed by a demon named Nefarious. Psychiatrist Dr. James Martin is tasked with assessing Brady’s sanity before his execution. His conversation with Edward takes even the self-assured James Martin by surprise.
From the very beginning, Brady has known the exact details of Martin’s private life and claims that his previous psychiatrist, Dr. Fischer, committed suicide under the demon’s influence.
Nefarious explains that he is controlling Edward for certain key spiritual reasons. He demonstrates that Edward is, in fact, merely a “toy” in the demon’s hands: he committed the murders under the demon’s coercion.
The demon claims that Martin will be responsible for three murders before the day is out. His knowledge of the psychiatrist’s past and his mental and spiritual state will prove crucial to the fulfillment of this claim made by Edward.
Martin initially rejects a transcendent explanation, but Nefarious shows him that the things they go through together cannot be understood through natural means. A film about the struggle between good and evil in this world.
