The film Sight tells the true story of Ming Wang, who rose from poverty and suffering in communist China to attend prestigious universities in the United States. He became a renowned eye surgeon to whom the most difficult cases of vision impairment were referred.

Ming Wang emigrates from China after traumatic events during the Cultural Revolution, where he experiences the brutality of the revolutionaries and loses his first love, Lili.

In the U.S., he becomes a top eye surgeon after completing prestigious studies, which he gains admission to thanks to his outstanding performance on entrance exams.

He meets Kajal, a blind Indian orphan whose stepmother caused her to lose her sight. Despite the hopeless nature of her condition, Ming attempts a new type of surgery that offers hope even in cases like Kajal’s.

Through little Kajal’s case, Ming himself finds a path to spiritual healing.
