The film Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake is an animated family drama suitable for both teens and adults. Olivia is a 12-year-old girl who, along with her younger brother Tim and her mother Ingrid, is evicted from their apartment due to her mother’s financial problems.

Olivia finds herself in a difficult family situation. To shield Tim at least a little from the harsh reality, she presents the events unfolding around them to him as a fantasy story.

Due to foreclosure, the family is forced to move to a poor, run-down neighborhood. Her mother succumbs to deep sadness, which escalates into depression. With the support of her friends, Olivia largely takes on her mother’s responsibilities and uses her creativity to navigate even the most challenging situations.

After some time, the children face the threat of being sent to a children’s home because their mother, Ingrid, is still unemployed, the family lives in dire conditions, and Ingrid eventually ends up in the hospital. Fortunately, people from both their immediate and wider communities step in to support them.
