A fairy-tale fantasy story about Pete growing up in the woods with his kind friend Elliot. The locals knew stories about the dragon only from Mr. Meacham’s tales, but they didn’t take them very seriously. One day, that changed.

Pete’s parents die in a car accident, and little Pete is the only survivor. In the forest where the accident occurred, he meets a dragon named Elliot, who takes him to his cave hidden deep in the dark forest.

After six years of living with the dragon, the situation changes. Pete is discovered in the woods by forest workers, who take him to the city. Later, he is taken in by Grace, a ranger at the local national park. With the help of Natalie, whose father Jack owns the local sawmill, Grace sets out to find out where Pete came from, where he belongs, and whether his dragon really exists.

Although the dragon Elliot comes to the city on his own to find Pete, he begins to realize that what Pete really needs is a human family. Soon, the forest workers discover that the dragon is real. Their hunt for the dragon ends successfully. Fortunately, they don’t kill Elliot; they merely put him to sleep and transport him to a logging camp. However, the situation spirals out of control, and a thrilling battle ensues to free the dragon and save the bond between Pete and his dragon.

The film features several heartwarming moments highlighting the importance of family ties, as well as selflessness and the desire to help others in various situations.
