The film Secret Delivery (Tichá pošta) tells the true story of a group of children set in the snow-covered Krkonoše Mountains at the end of World War II, in the winter of 1945. The children find Pierre, a downed French pilot from the Normandie-Niemen unit, in the forest and decide to rescue him.

The story begins with a Czech boy named Jíra setting out on skis to visit his German friend Jochen across the border of the Protectorate. Along the way, they discover traces of blood that lead them to the spot where the seriously wounded French pilot Pierre lies.

Jochen’s father helps the boys stage Jíra’s “injury”—a broken ski and a broken nose. Jíra and Pierre, hidden in hay on a cart, are then transported into the Protectorate.

Pierre is hidden in Jiří’s family home. When a doctor decides he must be taken to a hospital, a rescue operation begins, involving many selfless families. Pierre is transported through several villages, but the situation becomes significantly more complicated when the German occupiers discover his presence in the region.

The film highlights the strength of children and the empathy of families during wartime. It is inspired by a book by Jiří Stránský.
